The farm
The agricultural holding was founded in 2003, starting
from the lot of about one hectare surrounding the farmstead, adjacent
to the tourist facility, which included an already existing hazel
grove. We cultivate small fruits: raspberries, currants, strawberries
and vegetables: tomatoes, zucchini, eggplants, potatoes, beans,
French beans, fennels, cauliflowers and cabbages. During the winter
2004, the lot began to be converted, to obtain the certification
of organic products and since February 2006, the products have been
certified as "organic": with this certification, we want
to guarantee to our customers, the quality of what we sell and serve.
Since spring 2006, we have been breeding a small animals consisting
of autochthonous Piedmontese breeds: the Bionda Piemontese hen,
the white Saluzzo hen and the grey rabbit of Carmagnola.
In 2007, the cultivated area of the farm holding was expanded with
the new lot consisting of about 4.5 hectares along the Tanaro River,
near the farmstead, on which products (barley, wheat, etc) are cultivated
with organic methods.
Since fall 2008, after the restructuring works, four large rooms
on the upper floor of the structure have been available, furnished
with simplicity and taste: each room is equipped with private bathroom
with shower, TV and internet connection.
La Tilia is the ideal place for families and children who wish to
spend a day or stay even for long periods, with the possibility
of a full-board service. Children can play outside, in the lawns
surrounding the farmstead and also inside the facility, where one
of the halls is dedicated to them.
The kitchen offers typical Piedmontese dishes, cooked with local
organic ingredients coming from the vegetable garden and animals
of the same farm holding. Breakfast is served in the hall inside
the ancient cattle shed, now restructured, whose large windows allow
to enjoy the meals viewing the surrounding panorama, warmed by the
tepidness of the fireplace.
The rural tourist facility offers the possibility of walks or mountain-bike
excursions.
During the spring, in the large-window hall or outdoors, inspired
by the colours of the surrounding nature, a group of people gathers
every Saturday afternoon to discover and experiment the water-colour
technique, guided by a teacher-painter.
Ideal starting point to visit the nearby Langhe: leaving from Novello,
Barolo, La Morra, Monforte travelling along the charming panoramic
roads that connect them, until reaching Alba, the city famous for
the truffle festival that takes place in autumn.
The city of Bene Vagienna with its archaeological site, Cherasco,
famous for the prestigious antique market and the town of Mondovì
with the sanctuary of Vicoforte nearby, are of remarkable interest.
During the winter season, it is possible to quickly reach the skiing
facilities of Prato Nevoso and Frabosa.
